WORLD AIDS DAY

Today, we remember the likes of Zackie Achmat who fought tirelessly for us to be able to receive treatment from our public health centres. . We remember the dedication of our Doctors and nurses who serve us in our public health centers. We remember the thousands of care givers and volunteers who serve our people, at times, in the most dire conditons. We remember the journey that still lies ahead of us. We acknowledge the work that must still be done. We honour this platform and space we have to be able to assist our schools in educating our schooling communities on what more can be more to serve better.
We applaud our Department of Health for their work in serving our communities. More work has to be done.
Help educate and support.

Sada Higher Primary School Promotes Excellence

Historic Sada Higher Primary School recently hosted their 2015 leg of the Annual Excellence Awards. Top academic and cultural achievers were honoured with trophies, medals and certificates. The newly appointed principal, Mr. Gqola surprised his staff with Appreciation Certificates for their selfless service to the school and their entire Sada community.

We are very honoured to once again have an opportunity to serve this historic institution in this manner. We launched these awards in 2013 and have donated over 100 trophies and medals. This year's wards were supported by Litha Mpondwana, the grandson of the school's founding principal, Mr. Thomas Mthimkhulu Mpondwana.

We have big plans for the school for 2016. One of them is helping them establish their Alumni Office and launching their library.

SADA HP SCHOOL ANNOUNCES DATE FOR ANNUAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Sada Higher Primary School will host their annual Excellence Awards on 15 October 2015. We launched the awards at the school in 2013, donating all trophies, certificates and medals. As stated in our previous post, SHPS is a historic school. We have been supporting the school with the plans of developing it into a leading centre of academic excellence and leadership development.

The awards cover all seven learning areas and non-academic programs. We also have two Legacy Awards we sponsor; the Nopasika Mgqwetho for Excellence in Music Award, named after the legendary Ms Mgqwetho who was the school's national winning choir masters for over three decades, and the Thomas Mthimkhulu Mpondwana Leadership Awards named after the school''s founding principal. SHPS is the first school in the rural Whittlesea area to ever host awards of this nature. We are honoured to have been part of this journey. In the history of the district, it is the first time that we have awards sponsored by an organisation.

We look forward to reaching out to more schools in the area. If anyone is interested in playing a part in this years' awards, please drop us an email at inqubelafoundation@gmail.com.

We would like to wish all teachers a Happy Teachers Day. We thank you for serving the most important citizens of our nation - our future. We appreciate the sacrifices you make. You serve as educators, counselors, parents and care givers. We see the hardships you work under. Continue being a beacon of hope.

A special Happy Teachers Day to all the teachers in our partner schools. Through our Educator Support Unit, we will continue serving you through the various programs we continue improving for your benefit. Our communities are nothing without you. Thank you, for everything.

Founding MD joins Mandela Washington Fellowship Class of 2015

Koza with African musical icon Angelique Kodjoe
Congratulations to our MD, Nangamso Koza for making it as a Mandela Washington Fellow for 2015. The Fellowship is a flaship program of the President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

Together with 499 other inspiring young Africans, Koza spent six weeks in the US. She was placed at Howard University for a six weeks leadership course where she had an opportunity to mingle with some of America's leaders ranging from Congressmen to leaders of the Washington DC anti-apartheid movements. They concluded their trip by joining President Obama for a four day long Presidential Summit.

"I have no words to describe my time at Howard. I was at home. I prayed hard to be placed there for it's history. Howard is like the my American Fort Hare University. I met and spent time with such inspiring souls. I am eager to share my knowledge with my people and take Afrika forward.

"I am now even taking kiSwahili lessons, offered by my sister, Tunu Mlweli from Tanzania whom I was at Howard with. I am working on a couple of literacy development programs with some of them. Meeting so many talented and passionate young people renewed my commitment towards serving my people. I have faith my generation will enable Afrika to reach her full potential. I feel so rejuvenated."
